[LGBT Interview] IQ - Kin 4LIFE - Rapper/Producer/CEO

EvOn: What's Good?

IQ:Ain't shit just grindin in the mix getting this music out.

EvOn: Can you give us a quick introduction of yourself for our visitors?

IQ: My name is IQ aka Q aka Henry 1/2 of KIN4LIFE

EvOn: So what's happening with you & the music at the moment?

IQ: Just putting the finishing touches on the upcoming album "I love KIN4LIFE" and getting these tracks in for the upcoming mixtape Welcome to The KIN Factory hosted by DJ Jai Syncere.

EvOn: Are there any plans for any Collabs anytime soon?

IQ:We have tons of collabos on deck but right now we are trying to focus on finishing up the album. We are putting more of the focus on producing for other artist not necessarily jumping on the track with them.

EvOn: When people check out ya music What has the response been like so far?

IQ: The response has always been positive and I always appreciate that. There are your haters here and there but usuually they aren't hating on the music. Just mad their girl has a crush or sumthin, not my fault LOL

EvOn: what inspires you to make ya tracks?
IQ: LIFE

EvOn: what's the Gay hip hop scene like in the US?

IQ: Its growing but could be better. 2008 going into 2009 saw our video Make Up Girl on National TV with our 11 weeks Straight on MTV Logo. I gotta say thats not so bad so I appreciate all the strides our music has made. But I gotta show a special shout out to my homie LadyTwist from Miss Rap Supreme. Make sure you check her out on our Make Up Girl Remix

KIN 4 Life

EvOn: How Hard is it to make it in this industry as a female Rapper, and is being Gay important to sale your music or should you keep ya sexuality to your selfs?

IQ:Its hard to make it in the industry period, its just like going into progessional sports. There are a million people trying to do the same thing you are doing. Its all about perserverance and hard work. I am not sure how our sexuality is effecting out sales. I believe folks have always consideredn us gay and we have always sold our records so I guess it can't be hurting us that much lol.

EvOn: Are there any other artists from the US/UK or from the gay scene that we should be looking out for right now?

IQ:There are a lot of young cats coming up in the game that don't have any fear of their sexuality and are putting our music they believe in. I appreciate all those artists and hope we had an influence on them making that choice.

EvOn: If you wasn't making music what do you think you would be doing right now?
Locked up in a studio mixing and engineering which is kinda what I do anyway, LOL!

EvOn: How important do you think it is for new artist’s to know their history and appreciate the different elements of Hiphop even if they don’t partake in them?

IQ: Very important because if you don't study your craft how can you truly say you respect it.

EvOn: any final words / shoutouts before we finish?

IQ:I wanna shout out Nor my partner and best bud. I wanna shout out all the Noriq Records Artitsts Kay Smith Kas and Breeze lil Bella and all the folks we are producing for currently, Monifah, Aneesa of The Real World, Babs Bunny, and the Infamous Heather Hunter.
