Kamari Aka Lyrikal: ya boi, KAMARI aka LYRIKAL..Da neighba hood poet, the Peace Promota..The Prada Reppa.. You know me, jus ya average kat thats in love with Musik!

EvOn: So what's happening with you & the music at the moment?

Kamari Aka Lyrikal: gotta show tommorow..you comin? lol.. but yooo..jus doin local shows & puttn verses in on my folks music. Currently workin on a new Project "Illusions" its a collab with other "brotha's" in the "community". i wantchu on there to Evon!!!((No DOubt i will be)) real biz!

EvOn: Are there any plans for any Collabs anytime soon?

Kamari Aka Lyrikal: guess i answered that too soon, huh? lol...Yes..thats basically what i do is work with other artist. I'm here to unify the community so i put a verse in whereva i'm asked..and i got mad muzik i want others to jump on too..

EvOn: When people check out ya music What has the response been like so far?


Kamari Aka Lyrikal: are usually suprised..My voice confuses people..lol..my look and my voice doesnt match sometimes. Once again i'm da peace promota so my lyrics show that. i do not cuss, i don't bang & i don't do violence...so its "different" than whats out there now... (so i heard..lol)

EvOn: what inspires you to make ya tracks?

Kamari Aka Lyrikal: LIFE, My family..every day experiences.. TV..i mean EVERYTHING..i make up songs/raps/poems ALL day every DAY..i'mma FANATIC..officially ADDICTED!!!!

EvOn: what's the Gay hip hop scene like in the US?

Kamari Aka Lyrikal: uuum, i'm not really sure..i'm not in the "scene" much..i'm pretty much a loner..and when i do peform im usually in a "straight" environment..i would love to get more involved with the "Gay community".. so far i know of a few "gay" groups who are reppin fo all of us out here..and from what i hear..they doin a "okay" job..so ..whateva'z cleva..

EvOn: How Hard is it to make it in this industry as a female Rapper, and is being Gay important to sale your music or should you keep ya sexuality to your selfs?

Kamari Aka Lyrikal: Because i haven't had the opportunity to really get in the "Gay hip hop scene" i'm unsure. Because of my appearance i would NOT be able to keep my sexuality to myself..lol.. My goal here isn't to SELL music, its to SHARE music. many artist get off track when they main focus is to make money..me, i'm trying to gain support, listeners and Friends...

EvOn: Are there any other artists from the US/UK or from the gay scene that we should be looking out for right now?

Kamari Aka Lyrikal: You'z da hottest bruh i know! lol... but uuum...**shy look** i should know this..but uuum..i'mma hafta get bakk to ya on dat one..lol

EvOn: If you wasn't making music what do you think you would be doing right now?

Kamari Aka Lyrikal: I work allll day..BUT even while at work...i'm writin music..lol.. i am a County Clerk..also a BARBER..and while i'm cuttin trust me..i'm cuttin on beat and freestylin the whole time.. MUSIC is part of me..i can't seperate US...no matta what i'm doin!

EvOn: How important do you think it is for new artist’s to know their history and appreciate the different elements of Hiphop even if they don’t partake in them?

Kamari Aka Lyrikal: VERY VERY important..they started it fo us..and i show my Love fo them by carryin on the way it SHOULD be... I have madd respect fo the HISTORY of HIP HOP... Thats what got me started...i'm ol' skoo Evon..really... I grew up with da good ol' old skoo HIP HOP..aaaaaah..oh how i miss it!!
