EvOn: What's Good?

ARK:Everything is everything give thanks.

EvOn: Can you give us a quick introduction of yourself for our visitors?

ARK: I'd sound cocky if I said you should know me by now, but the truth of my situation is that you SHOULD know who I am. Ark, short of Ark The God Given MC is the frame of mind I'm in. A rare kind, period. I'm
from Houston, though I was raised in Cali, NJ, Tenn, Italy all over, I been around.
As an artist I do me, whatever me I may be at the moment, so it's real. People lost the meaning of that word long ago. I'm real because I bleed, I struggle, I get pissed off, I get fuked over, I get happy, I get silly and I share every bit of that unedited with people I don't even know all over the world! Like I said you should know about me.

EvOn: So what's happening with you & the music at the moment?

ARK:At the moment I'm pushing. Everyone person I meet knows who Ark is. Grinding isn't just internet promo, a couple shows here and there. I really walk the streets selling my cd. I'll walk in the movies, barber shops, parks, pool halls, the clubs, everywhere and yell "I got that DOPE!" and if they buy it cool, if they don't they still know who Ark is, and real talk they know I go in.

EvOn: Are there any plans for any Collabs anytime soon?

ARK:I'm picky now. I'm picky with myself so nothing personal. I just got tired of the hey let's do something and I send you tracks and that's the last I hear from cats. I'm hungry, I always look for the what's next so things move quick for me so when you holding a track for a month and hit me the next month like you still down. Would you get a track from Wayne of Tyga or whatever and hit them a month later? Right, I'm no different. Check yourself if you think that's me on some bighead nonsense. I respect myself as who I know I am not who I want to be all I ask is for people to address me the same.

EvOn: When people check out ya music What has the response been like so far?

ARK:It varies, but I can say no one has ever told me I was wack. Real rap, my biggest response is 'why you don't have a deal yet?' or 'you with G.E.D. / Young Money!' It's funny too because people treat me differently depending on if they heard me first or not. If they heard me first and seen the sites and what not they think I'm HUGE, if they meet me out somewhere they like she just cool people. Either way, I don't mind feedback at all. I love it.

EvOn: what inspires you to make ya tracks?

ARK: Change, world peace, tattoos, women, weed, clothes, cars, money, my family, my moments that create me and everything around me. Life. Tracks are just how I live.

EvOn: what's the Gay hip hop scene like in the US?

ARK:I wouldn't know. I'm not the club type. When I go out, it's business. Strictly. So when I am in the hip hop scene, prodominantly male, I mingle do my thing and I'm gone. I don't even know of a gay hip hop scene. Not because there couldn't be, just because those that have the ability to aren't really extending that hand. However, there's fam in the straight spots playing they part, keeping it business and we connect like that. I don't really care as long as you love the music.

EvOn: How Hard is it to make it in this industry as a female Rapper, and is being Gay important to sale your music or should you keep ya sexuality to your selfs?

ARK:In my world nothing's hard. Being gay, female, whatever doesn't matter. As an artist you have to perfect your craft until it's undeniable. As a person you have to understand that who you are and what you came to do is too different things. Jesus came as God in the form of man. He couldn't peaced out early on everybody but what He came do was more important than who he was. I'm no different. Do what's real for you and don't apologize period.

EvOn: Are there any other artists from the US/UK or from the gay scene that we should be looking out for right now?

ARK: I really haven't had the opportunity to see what's poppin in the fam scene, but I've worked with and am a fan of Fiona Simone. Young Row ill too. Miss Money and Mz. Trinity here in Houston. I wish I could say I knew more. I know of Khaos, Siya, I.L.E. out of Dallas, High Life DJ 730, Star Studded Fam in Houston, TT the Artist (dum sik), SOLO in Houston, ShayVA, I'm trying to think of everyone that helped me, dapped me, i hit or hit me up at one point or another...yea that's all I got right now. EvOn: If you wasn't making music what do you think you would be doing right now?

ARK: Serving fed time or dead. That's not to sound fly or hard or none of that, I know what I used to be and what I was capable of doing so I don't imagine what life is without it, that doesn't exist to me.

EvOn: How important do you think it is for new artist’s to know their history and appreciate the different elements of Hiphop even if they don’t partake in them?

ARK: What!?! This is a dope ass question. It's more than important to know everything you can know about whatever it is you want to do. Everybody and they moms a rapper now. You can get you a little beat program throw you a 4/8 bar loop together say some dumb catchy shit and you in there. Not hating on that, this is what I am hating on, after that single you don't hear from cats because they have no knowledge, no plan, no longevity, no career and the music sucks. Good music comes from an ear that hears much more than that. Being a rapper is easy, but it's the composition of lines meeting not just a beat but an orchestra of sounds that compose the passion and inspiration I manipulate into something you can feel, ain't something you can get in a ringtone. Real rap to know where you going, you gotta know where you came from.
